What to Bring to Your Health Coverage Screening Appointment
For Assistance with State Disability Insurance (SDI), Unemployment Insurance (UIB), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI):
Benefits Specialists provide assistance with a full range of public benefit issues to BHRS clients and participants in the various Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) programs including SSI/SSDI applications, Medi-Cal applications and annual renewals, help completing forms, and help identifying other community resources.
If you are a BHRS client actively receiving regular services through BHRS’ System of Care and are unable to come to any of our clinic locations for a free health insurance screening, home appointments are available to assist you with any of the above health coverage or benefits programs. Note: Legal immigration status is not required to access free or low cost health coverage in San Mateo County. If you have private insurance that does not cover mental health or substance abuse services at the level of care required for your treatment, you may still qualify for public health coverage.
